MSC INDUSTRIAL DIRECT CO., INC. DECLARES

INCREASED REGULAR QUARTERLY DIVIDEND

 

 

Melville, NY, January 7, 2003 - MSC INDUSTRIAL DIRECT CO., INC. (NYSE: MSM), “MSC,” one of the premier distributors of MRO supplies to industrial customers throughout the United States, announced that its Board of Directors has declared its regular quarterly cash dividend.  The Board has also approved an increase in the regular quarterly cash dividend to $0.08 per share from $0.05 per share previously, an increase of 60%.  The $0.08 dividend is payable on January 30, 2004 to shareholders of record at the close of business on January 20, 2004.

 

“We are very pleased to be able to increase the dividend we pay our shareholders,” said Mitchell Jacobson, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer.  “Our strong financial performance and excellent operational execution have allowed the Board to approve this increase while still maintaining ample funds to follow through on our growth strategy.”
