RESULTS OF OPERATIONS AND FINANCIAL CONDITION

On December 13, 2018, MSC Industrial Direct Co., Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release (the “Press Release”) announcing that it expects fiscal 2019 first quarter average daily sales growth to be slightly above the midpoint of the range of guidance included in its October 30, 2018 earnings release.  A copy of the press release is furnished with this report as Exhibit 99.1.

MELVILLE, NY and DAVIDSON, NC, December 13, 2018 - MSC INDUSTRIAL SUPPLY CO. (NYSE: MSM), a premier distributor of Metalworking and Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) products and services to industrial customers throughout North America, today announced that Dave Wright, Senior Vice President of Sales & Customer Success, has resigned to pursue another opportunity. The company has launched a search for a successor.
