Take for instance Sunbeam Corporation. It would have been nice to vote an entire new board of directors whom would act in the best interest of shareholders instead of bilking the company dry, declaring bankruptcy and getting re-issued stock options in the new company. The only losers under the current system seem to be the powerless shareholders and trusting employees of this corrupt and skewed system. I would also like to see each director’s compensation also voted upon by shareholders, instead of a compensation package. For a few hours of work every year its seems they are, in general, OVERPAID.
