About 300 million Americans wonder whether the SEC is bought and paid for by special interests, especially financial interests. The SEC has the opportunity to rehabilitate its image in the eyes of Americans by clamping down on financial predators who used the taxpayers to extricate themselves from poor judgment. Therefore, all these regulations should err in
strictness in favor of the average American citizen. And there is no doubt in the minds of the American public that Elizabeth Warren should head the new US Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Anybody else will be seen as an attempt by financial institutions to derail competent over-sight of institutions which have proven themselves improvident, incapable of self-governance, and detrimental to the best interests of the American taxpayer.
