ITEM 8.01.
Other Events.

On January 19, 2009, Smith-Midland Corporation issued a press release announcing that it has been awarded the contract for the setting and removal of 18,000 feet of J-J Hooks® concrete safety barrier for the 2009 inauguration for President Elect Barrack Obama.  In addition, the press release reported on the Company’s unaudited production backlog.

The press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
