Exhibit 99.1
[ELECTRONIC MESSAGE TO ALL EMPLOYEES OF
THE LUBRIZOL CORPORATION SENT ON MARCH 31, 2011]
I’m sure that many of you have seen Berkshire Hathaway’s March 30th press release announcing the resignation of David Sokol. The matters discussed in that press release do not in any way alter the terms or the timing of our proposed transaction with Berkshire Hathaway. We are continuing to work with Berkshire Hathaway to complete the merger as quickly as possible. As we disclosed in our preliminary proxy statement that we filed with the SEC on March 25, 2011, we continue to expect to complete the merger in the third quarter of 2011.
Sincerely,
James L. Hambrick
Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer
