Explanation of Responses:
1. On May 10, 2009, the Anne Darden Self 2007 Grantor Retained Annuity Trust (the "2007 Trust") terminated. Effective as of that date, the reporting person received the final annuity distribution of 182,487 shares of Quicksilver Resources Inc. common stock from the 2007 Trust.
2. On June 3, 2009, the Anne Darden Self 2008 Grantor Retained Annuity Trust (the "2008 Trust") terminated. Effective as of that date, the reporting person received the final annuity distribution of 611,351 shares of Quicksilver Resources Inc. common stock from the 2008 Trust.
3. These shares are owned directly by Quicksilver Energy, L.P. The reporting person disclaims beneficial ownership of the reported securities except to the extent of her pecuniary interest therein, and this report shall not be deemed an admission that she is the beneficial owner of the securities for purposes of Section 16 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended, or for any other purpose.
4. The reporting person owned 15,593.9274 units of a Unitized Stock Fund under a 401(k) plan as of October 31, 2009. Such units equate to 51,195 shares of common stock.
5. Represents a right to buy.
6. This stock option was previously reported as covering 4,559 shares at an exercise price of $23.8333 per share, but was adjusted to reflect the 2-for-1 stock split that occurred on January 31, 2008. This stock option vested in three equal annual installments beginning on December 21, 2005, with full vesting on December 21, 2007.
7. This stock option was previously reported as covering 21,000 shares at an exercise price of $11.01 per share, but was adjusted to reflect the 2-for-1 stock split that occurred on January 31, 2008. This stock option vested in five equal annual installments beginning on January 7, 2005, with full vesting on January 7, 2009.
